Job Description:
The First Assistant Director (1st AD) will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our film set. As the 1st AD, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the cast and crew, coordinating the shooting schedule, and ensuring that the production stays on track. You will work closely with the director, producers, and other key crew members to execute the creative vision of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage the daily shooting schedule in coordination with the director and production team.
• Communicate the director’s vision to the cast and crew, ensuring that everyone is on the same page.
• Supervise the cast and crew, ensuring that all members are informed of their call times and responsibilities.
• Manage on-set logistics, including coordinating with departments such as camera, lighting, and sound.
• Ensure that the production stays on schedule and within budget by efficiently managing time and resources.
• Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and procedures on set.
• Handle any on-set emergencies or unexpected challenges with professionalism and calm.
• Assist in managing rehearsals, blocking, and set preparations before filming begins.
• Coordinate with the location manager to ensure all locations are ready for shooting.
• Act as a liaison between the director and the rest of the production team.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Previous experience in film or television production is preferred, but not required. We are open to candidates with strong leadership skills and a passion for filmmaking.
• Skills:
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle unexpected challenges.
• Understanding of film production processes and terminology.
• Proficiency in scheduling and project management tools is a plus.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work long hours, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends, as required by the production schedule.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around on set for extended periods.
